Step inside a Tender Hearts Family Circle. In this video, our preschool community gathers to connect, learn, and grow together in a supportive and loving environment.

Sometimes the best learning happens when we stop and notice. A tiny discovery becomes a chance to wonder, ask questions, explore, and experience the world up close. At Tender Hearts, curiosity is part of the day.

You see a child playing. We see curiosity, problem-solving, fine motor development, early math, and independence—all happening through hands-on exploration.

Kindness is something we practice. During Family Circle, our children and families created Kindness Rocks to share a little joy with our community. Small hands can make a big difference.

Before children know the science, they know how to wonder. Hands-on experiments invite them to predict, test, observe, and discover what happens next. We’re not looking for the right answer—we’re building curious minds.

Learning isn't always neat—and that's part of the fun! As children squish, mix, touch, and explore, they're making observations, testing ideas, and discovering how things work. Sometimes the best learning gets a little messy.

Picking up, placing, sorting, and creating may look like simple play, but little hands are doing important work. These everyday experiences build fine motor skills, concentration, problem-solving, and the hand strength children will later use for writing.

Cooking builds more than recipes. As children scoop, pour, measure, mix, and create, they're practicing independence, following directions, building fine motor skills, and learning to work together. Around our table, little hands are learning they can do big things.

Cooking together is about more than what's on the plate. Children learn to take turns, follow directions, try new things, help one another, and take pride in what they've made. The recipe is just the beginning.

A love of reading grows when children see books being shared all around them. Our friends from the Benicia Library joined us for storytime, bringing new voices, new stories, and another reminder that reading connects our children to a much bigger world.

One family gives a backpack. Another adds supplies. Someone else simply decides to help. Together, our Tender Hearts Village collected 33 filled backpacks for children in our community. Small acts become something much bigger when we do them together.

Sometimes the best memories happen when we bring our community together. Our Farm Animal Petting Zoo gave children and families a chance to meet the animals up close, explore something new, and simply enjoy being together. Childhood is filled with moments worth remembering.

When children are given the right tools, guidance, and trust, they learn just how capable they are. Cutting, preparing, and creating their own food builds coordination, confidence, independence—and that wonderful feeling of saying, “I did it myself.”

There’s something special about seeing a parent step into our classroom and share a favorite book. Children hear a new voice, families become part of the learning, and our Village grows a little closer—one story at a time.

Children learn what matters by watching the people around them. When parents take time to read with our preschoolers, they’re doing more than sharing a story—they’re showing our children that books, learning, and time together matter.
